Multicultural Development Australia

Building the community welcoming new Queenslanders

In 2019, it was wonderful working with the good folk at Essential Media on the creation of the new website for Multicultural Australia, a legendary organisation that for over 20 years has been welcoming refugees, people seeking asylum, international students and other new arrivals to Queensland with the goal of creating a fairer, more prosperous society for all Queenslanders.

Since then, we have enjoyed providing ongoing support to Multicultural Australia's online efforts, including on the creation of their first ever 100% virtual multicultural festival in 2020 (note: if you are reading this many years in the future and are not sure why the event was virtual, Google "2020 + pandemic").

Earth Day

Supporting the world’s largest recruiter to the environmental movement

In 2020 Earthday.org used NationBuilder to support a pretty significant change of plans for the largest civic event in the world!

We were proud to work with Earthday.org to design and develop a series of custom donation pages in support of the world’s largest recruiter to the environmental movement.

Australia Beyond Coal

For our health, jobs and the planet

The Australia Beyond Coal alliance was started by a group of seven prominent community organisations, who together represent more than one and a half million Australians concerned about the damaging impacts of coal power on our health, communities, and climate. They want to see Australia harness the extraordinary economic opportunities of this country’s plentiful renewable energy resources to support thriving communities and forge a bright future powered by clean energy.

The new website we created for Australia Beyond Coal was a Reed Awards finalist for Best International Website in 2020.

Partnership for the Outback

Protecting a unique landscape for future generations

We have been working with Partnership for the Outback for many years, providing ongoing support to their advocacy efforts. By 2020, it was time for a website update. We worked through an iterative design and development process with their team, before supporting the launch in 2021 - including ensuring all existing live campaigns and content were migrated seamlessly ahead of an upcoming state election.

The Partnership for the Outback brings together an alliance of leading conservation organisations working for nature, people and the future of outback Western Australia, including by advocating for incentives for diverse and sustainable land uses in the outback, investing in national parks, working with Indigenous Rangers, restoring productivity and supporting carbon farming.

Repower

Building people power in support of renewables

Repower are a people-powered movement getting behind the transition to renewable energy. They have a compelling story to tell about the benefits of switching to renewables - for business, government, the community and individuals. We are excited they asked us to build the website that tells that story.

In 2019 the website we built for Repower won the Reed Award for Best International Website.

Green Music Australia

Harnessing the cultural power of music to create a greener, safer future

Green Music Australia is harnessing the cultural power of music and musicians to lead the way to a greener world. The campaign's role is to organise, facilitate and inspire musicians and the music industry to make changes to improve environmental performance, from energy use to packaging and waste to transport. By leading by example, and bringing audiences along with them, Green Music Australia is creating a deep, cultural change.

The website we were asked to create, using our Candidate theme as a base, needed to draw on the vibrancy of the music industry, and appeal to music lovers with straightforward messages that made taking action both achievable and fun.

In 2020, the website we created for Green Music Australia won the Reed Award for Best Grassroots Website. We have since worked with their team on a number of design updates, continually improving the site to meet their campaign objectives.
