Make Big Polluters Pay is a national alliance of more than 40 civil society organisations campaigning to ensure coal, oil and gas corporations contribute fairly to the costs of climate damage. The campaign needed a digital presence that could introduce a complex policy proposal to a broad public audience and provide a credible, shared platform for a newly formed coalition.
The objective of the website was to establish Make Big Polluters Pay as a standalone national campaign, communicate its core argument clearly, and create a foundation for ongoing advocacy, reporting and supporter engagement.
Working closely with the alliance, we designed and built a campaign website that prioritised clarity, credibility and accessibility. The landing page was structured to explain the real-world costs of climate change in plain language — rising insurance premiums, food costs and disaster recovery — before connecting these impacts to the role of major polluters.
The site design balanced emotional resonance with restraint, using people-centred imagery, calm visual language and strong content hierarchy to build trust.
The website provides a scalable platform that can grow with the campaign, supporting petitions, reports and future mobilisation while allowing the alliance to maintain a unified public presence as the campaign evolves.
