Parents for Climate

Parents for Climate is a grassroots movement uniting parents, carers, and families to demand urgent climate action for the sake of future generations. Their mission is to provide a platform for parents to organise, advocate, and raise awareness about the climate crisis, amplifying their voices as a powerful force for change. The new website designed for Parents for Climate in 2024 needed to articulate their mission with clarity and purpose, create a welcoming space for parents from diverse backgrounds, and provide tools for them to organise, advocate, and take meaningful action to secure a sustainable future for their children.

The website's primary objectives were to:

- Attract and engage parents concerned about climate change, regardless of their political leanings.
- Inspire and mobilise collective action by providing tools for advocacy and community building.
- Streamline onboarding of more engaged supporters, ensuring they can quickly access resources, find local groups, and get involved in ongoing campaigns.

The website is a vibrant and dynamic digital hub that embodies the energy and care of this family-driven movement. The design reflects a community-centric approach, utilising soft greens and blues to evoke nature, growth, and a sense of hope, coupled with impactful imagery from rallies and local gatherings, create an immediate emotional connection.

To achieve the organisation's objectives, the website integrates:

- action tools that make it easy for visitors to discover current campaigns, sign petitions, donate, or contact decision-makers.
- mapping features to enable parents to find nearby groups and activities. This fosters a sense of belonging and empowers parents to take action in their communities. The workflows set up in connection with these frontend website features and our distributed organising platform SupporterBase also allow local leaders to effectively onboard and engage with new members.
- educational resources: accessible articles, guides, and toolkits to help parents engage in climate advocacy and educate others.
- storytelling and advocacy: dedicated blog and media sections highlight the stories of parent advocates, amplifying their voices and providing inspiration for others.
