During the 2025 Federal Election, we partnered with 27 Independent campaigns, delivering comprehensive digital infrastructure, training, and support through our core offerings: SupporterBase (volunteer management), NationBuilder (CRM, fundraising and website), and Metabase (supporter analytics).
Building on lessons from the 2022 election cycle, we engaged early with key partners to ensure campaigns had the time and resources to more fully implement and benefit from core systems. As a result, there was much greater breadth and depth in the uptake of of key systems like SupporterBase compared to the 2022 election.

As the campaign kicked off, we were able to rapidly scale support, launch a new fully integrated booth rostering system, and provide in-person training. Feedback from campaigns was overwhelmingly positive. A number of winning campaigns described SupporterBase as critical to their volunteer management work, while the new rostering system was widely seen as a strong vehicle for pre-poll and election day shift recruitment, and a major improvement on existing systems (especially when paired with SupporterBase’s inbuilt group management and communications features, as well as our website event and shift displays). Clients also highlighted our team’s high level of responsiveness, technical skill, and collaborative approach, consistently crediting our service as critical to their campaign success.
Of the 27 campaigns we worked with, 22 achieved a positive swing, with an average swing of +9.8%, significantly outperforming the national independent average of 1.98%. All seven incumbent campaigns supported by Code Nation retained their seats, and one challenger candidate (Bradfield) secured a win. One campaign (Franklin) that only just lost at the federal level was able to build on this momentum to comfortably win their seat at a state election immediately after.
We also supported a successful pilot use-case of SupporterBase as a donor activation platform, enabling over 13,000 donor calls and 11,000 SMS messages through a single campaign. Looking ahead to the next election cycle, there are opportunities to work closely with partners to refine existing processes and SupporterBase features, develop more robust and integrated training and onboarding systems, as well as make major upgrades to key elements of the tech stack for the benefit of all independent campaigns.
